Visste ni att det är Internationella tvätta-händerna-dagen (Global Handwashing Day) idag?! Denna dag initierades 2008 av Public-Private Partership for Handwashing (PPPHW). Målet med dagen är att en kontinuerlig och god handhygien ska bidra till att förhindra diarrésjukdomar och luftvägsinfektioner, som gör vuxna och barn sjuka i världens U-länder varje dag och dödar miljontals varje år. Handtvätt med tvål och vatten är det mest effektiva och billigaste sättet att stoppa detta.

"Handwashing with soap is the most effective and inexpensive way to prevent diarrheal and acute respiratory infections, which take the lives of millions of children in developing countries every year. Together, they are responsible for the majority of all child deaths. Yet, despite its lifesaving potential, handwashing with soap is seldom practiced and difficult to promote.
Turning handwashing with soap before eating and after using the toilet into an ingrained habit could save more lives than any single vaccine or medical intervention, cutting deaths from diarrhea by almost half and deaths from acute respiratory infections by one-quarter. A vast change in handwashing behavior is critical to meeting the Millennium Development Goal of reducing deaths among children under the age of five by two-thirds by 2015.
Global Handwashing Day focuses on children because not only do they suffer disproportionately from diarrheal and respiratory diseases and deaths, but research shows that children – the segment of society so often the most energetic, enthusiastic, and open to new ideas – can also be powerful agents for changing behaviors like handwashing with soap in their communities."

Five good reasons to use solid soap.

Idag använder de flesta helst flytande tvål men vi tycker att det är dags att tänka om! Nedan har vi listat fem bra anledningar till att byta ut tvålflaskan mot en fast tvål.

1. En fast tvål går att köpa som den är eller med väldigt lite förpackningsmaterial, det behövs inga plastflaskor och pumpar som belastar miljön. Visste du att över 60 % av kostnaden för en flytande tvål består av just förpackningen plus att mycket av det du betalar för faktiskt är vatten.

2. En fast tvål kan komma i oändligt många former, storlekar och färger. I tvålen kan det finnas mönster, små peelande korn, blomblad, ja bara fantasin sätter gränserna. Du får direkt en känsla av tvålen och dess doft så fort du ser den till skillnad från en flytande tvål som är instängd i en plastförpackning.

3. Det kostar ungefär 10 gånger så mycket att använda flytande tvål i jämförelse med fast. Detta enligt en uträkning som dailyfinance.com gjort.

4. En fast tvål räcker längre än en flytande. Med en fast tvål så använder du bara precis så mycket du behöver. Med en pump så är det lätt att få ut för mycket per gång.

5. Fast tvål är lättare att frakta, både från leverantör och för dig som konsument. Lättare transporter leder till mindre koldioxidutsläpp och mindre miljöpåverkan.

1. A solid soap can be purchased as is or with very little packaging, there is no need for plastic bottles and pumps that pollute the environment. Did you know that over 60% of the cost of a liquid soap comes from packaging? 

2. A solid soap can come in countless shapes, sizes and colors. In the soap, there may be patterns, tiny exfoliating grains, flower petals, only imagination sets the limit. You immediately get a sense of the soap and its scent as soon as you see it, unlike a liquid soap that is trapped in a plastic container.

3. It costs about 10 times as much to use liquid soap in comparison with solid. That's according to a calculation that dailyfinance.com has done.

4. A solid soap last longer than a liquid. With a solid soap so you just use as much as you need. With a pump it is easy to get too much at one time.

5. Solid soap is easier to transport, both from the supplier and for you as a consumer. Light transport leads to less carbon emissions and less environmental impact.

Cremosin - since 1923.

Visste ni att Cremosin lanserades 1923 och har sedan dess funnits på den svenska marknaden? Förpackningen har i princip sett likadan ut alla dessa år och formen på tvålen samt doften är oförändrad. Det var med just Cremosintvålen vi, 1924, blev hovleverantörer.
